Notify When Available Comes to Teams 2.1

Without any fuss or bother, Microsoft announced that the Teams 2.1 client has regained the Notify When Available feature. This functionality allows users to subscribe to the presence status for someone else to receive notifications when that person’s presence status changes to Available. It’s a very useful and worthwhile feature to have that goes back to Skype. It’s good to have it back!

Teams Improves its Fit and Finish

Some recent small changes in Teams will make users happy because the product’s fit and finish is improving. Speaker attribution for live captions makes conversations easier to follow and faster updates from Exchange mean that out of office notifications and change in presence states are picked up faster. These aren’t earthshattering changes, but they do make Teams more pleasant to use.

Using the Plenom Busylight for Teams Presence Status

The Plenom Busylight is a small LED light that plugs into a USB port on your computer and changes color to reflect your presence status in Teams, Skype, Zoom, Jabber, or several other UC clients. It’s well worth the price to signal when you’re busy to people whom you share your home with.
